Mr. Ryan Hung WS

  • Certified Counselor, Hong Kong Professional Counseling Association

Ryan Hung is a compassionate and thoughtful therapist committed to supporting individuals navigating anxiety, personal growth, chronic stress, and caregiving challenges. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s degree in Counseling (with credit) from City University of Hong Kong.

His clinical experience began with work supporting the elderly and individuals with intellectual disabilities, where he developed a calm, empathetic presence and deep respect for the resilience of others. These early experiences grounded his ability to listen attentively and hold space for people facing complex emotional needs.

In 2019, Ryan began studying Jungian Psychology and Sandplay Therapy, which opened new perspectives on the symbolic and unconscious dimensions of healing. This journey has enriched his therapeutic horizon, offering him a more holistic view of the human psyche and providing tools to engage with deeper emotional wounds through metaphor and image.

More recently, Ryan has been dedicating himself to the study and practice of Trauma Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These approaches have become central to his work, offering structured and evidence-based tools for individuals struggling with emotional regulation, inner conflict, or the aftermath of psychological trauma. His strong foundation in cognitive-based work allows him to help clients clarify thought patterns, build coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change.

Ryan’s approach is warm, grounded, and quietly intuitive. He works especially well with adults who are exploring their emotional world, searching for direction in life, or seeking support in the face of anxiety, stress, or life transitions. His teletherapy sessions are ideal for those who value psychological depth alongside practical tools for everyday resilience.
